"At the Awards assembly, Mr. Pike announced the outstanding attendance and perfect attendance awards. I got an outstanding attendance award, and I got to stand up in front of the whole school. Today was the most amazing day I've had yet!" ~ Ashlynn

"I just want to say thank you to Mrs. O'Connell and Mrs. Thompson for being the best teachers ever!" ~ Kylee

"When I was in Mrs. Eckman's room, I was playing on Riley's iPad, we were playing a game called Pocket Frogs." ~ Abby

"Well, I learned that we should not mess around with the power lines because they have really powerful volts.  If you do one of these things you could be dead. You couldn't even survive one of the accidents." -Kenan

"In PE, we did a bean bag game and I got out 5 times." -Ashlynn

"When Dylan's Dad came he said it's most important to look up and then you'll live.  He means if you look down and you run into a power line you might not survive.  If you look up, you can avoid power lines." -Mary

"In math, we were reviewing for our math test tomorrow.  We worked on equivalent fractions, number lines, measurement, line plot graphs, and measuring angles." -Ella

Reminder: 
There is a family picnic tomorrow during lunch time.  Families are invited to come to Brentwood to eat lunch with us in the park next to the school (assuming the weather holds out).  No adult lunches will be served, so please bring your own lunch if you're a guest.  Please join us in the park from 11:40-12:15.

"Today Mrs. Fiske came in with two helpers, to help us make paper cranes. There is a first grader and she has Leukemia, there is a Japanese legend that says if you make one thousand paper cranes it grants a wish for love or health, so our school set a goal to make one thousand cranes for her, and we've already reached our goal!" ~ Ella

"At the end of the day we had a huge cleaning activity, we got a lot accomplished! We cleaned the library, the free choice bins and the teacher bins, and we cleaned our desks." ~ Kolby

"When Mrs. O'Connell was teaching math, if you were done you could silent read. Mary and I started buddy reading The BFG, which stands for the big friendly giant. We got to chapter five." ~ Abby

"During library Mrs. O'Connell came in and helped us find a book at or slightly above our lexile, because some people in our class were reading below or way above their lexile. I found the book Found, by Haddix." ~ Chase

"In math our math lesson was so hard that Mrs. O'Connell helped us with most of it. It was "I can add and multiply unit fraction to build fractions great that 1." ~ Kylee

"Because it was pouring down rain we had to have indoor recess, Sean and I played "Speed-stack Kendoma" which we made up." ~ Kaydin

"For the project in social studies, we got to make a big map of where they lived and some things we put on it were a big river.  We are also going to put on the fur trappers lodge and we did tipis, trees, and animals." -Kaydin

"This morning we had a lesson with Radical Rick.  We were doing experiments about sound. We learned that sound travels in waves and travels faster through water and steel because they are more dense so the vibrations travel faster." -LJ

"With Radical Rick, one of the stations that I got to do was you put a spoon on a string.  Then you hit the spoon against something hard and then hold the string up to your ears.  I heard church bells because the vibrations traveled up the string." -Mary

"In PE, we talked about things that are going to change in PE like we are going to have a lot of testing and we're going to have to do the push-ups for the testing.  We also talked about bones." -Trey

"We had our first day of social studies today.  We are learning about maps and the state of Washington." -Carrie

"During social studies we got to watch a video about world maps and other kinds of maps and how they work." -Abby

"While we were doing math, we were learning about division and division with remainders." -Kaydin

"This afternoon in our Treasures book, we had partners and we read a play about reptiles." -Mikaela

"In reading we also took a spelling pretest.  Most of words had the /er/ sound.  The spelling patterns were ir, ur, and er." -Kylee
