"My favorite part of our entry task was writing about the perfect birthday party, mine included all types of cupcakes, you name it...they would be at the party!" ~ Kylee

"We did a venn diagram comparing Emily from The Surprise and Ali Baba from Ali Baba Bernstein." ~ LJ

"This afternoon we had to write a paragraph of at least five sentences about one moment. We had to use a lot of details, mine was about the day before my birthday." ~ Chase

"Mrs. Thompson (in high school) couldn't remember the capital of Afghanistan, so she sang 'Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan. While doing the chant, she was spinning around in the chair.  It worked because the brain loves movement." -Kaylee, Abby, and Sean

Some of the best parts about our first day of school:

  • Holding the human brain
  • We have choice bins in our class to use when our work is done
  • We get tickets for good behavior
  • If we get 25 punches in our stars, we can get a Kit Kat bar
  • The brain has gyri and sulci (Gyri are the bumps and the sulci are the grooves)
  • We got to meet our teachers
